The community of Novato is nestled in scenic Marin County, about 30 miles north of San Francisco and close to Napa Valley’s world-class wineries. Its low population density, vast open space, and 27 oak-studded parks give the city a rural feel and offer hiking, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching, and other recreational opportunities. Several annual events take place in historic Old Town, including an art, wine and music festival, 4th of July parade, and classic car show. In addition to the many events and activities available, Novato has a low crime rate, good schools, and lower housing prices than many nearby communities.
Novato Community Hospital is part of Sutter Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving Northern California. The community-based hospital provides 24-hour emergency, general surgery, critical care, and laboratory services, and specializes in orthopedic surgery and joint replacement surgery. Situated on a 10-acre campus, the hospital’s design is evidence of its commitment to creating a healing environment, offering ambient interiors, a meditation room, and family accommodations.
