John Muir Medical Center-Concord Campus is an acute care facility that serves Contra Costa and southern Solano counties (JohnMuirHealth.com). The medical center has long been recognized as a preeminent center for cancer care and cardiac care, including open heart surgery and interventional cardiology. Other areas of specialty include general surgery, orthopedic, and neurology programs. John Muir Medical Center-Concord Campus is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), a national surveyor of quality patient care. The hospital has been designated a Stroke Center of Excellence and also has one of the strongest interventional cardiology programs in the East Bay. A new ED is scheduled to be completed in November 2010.
