EMERYVILLE, Calif. (October 15, 2022) — Vituity is proud to announce that Modern Healthcare has recognized Imamu Tomlinson, MD, MBA, among its 25 Top Diversity Leaders in Healthcare for 2022. The Top Diversity Leaders award program honors individuals who are committed to expanding and improving access to care for all patients and creating more inclusive workplaces.
“The honorees on Modern Healthcare’s 2022 lists of Top Diversity Leaders and Organizations demonstrate a willingness to devote the resources necessary to execute meaningful diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives,” says Mary Ellen Podmolik, Modern Healthcare’s editor. “Their efforts to provide greater opportunities internally while advancing health equity initiatives in their communities set a great example for others to follow.”
As CEO of Vituity, Dr. Tomlinson leads a team of more than 5,000 clinicians who deliver care to patients across the country. He also practices emergency medicine at a community hospital in California’s acutely underserved Central Valley.
“I’m deeply honored to be recognized among this group of diversity luminaries and champions,” says Dr. Tomlinson. “Everyone on this list is committed to helping others and transforming healthcare for the benefit of all patients and communities. Together, we are effecting real and lasting change.
“I also wish to acknowledge my Vituity colleagues who, through their brilliance and hard work, make our organization so amazing.”
This distinction marks the sixth national award bestowed to Dr. Tomlinson in less than two years, following his inclusion on the lists of Modern Healthcare’s 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives Class of 2022; Becker’s Healthcare’s 75 Black Healthcare Leaders to Know (2022); Modern Healthcare’s Most Influential People in Healthcare List (2021) and 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives (2021); and Fierce Healthcare’s Most Influential Minority Executives (2021).
