Premier Southern California emergency medicine group joins the nation’s largest physician‐owned multispecialty partnership to further integrate and enhance patient care at Providence Saint John’s Health Center.
EMERYVILLE, CA (October 19, 2021)—Vituity, the nation’s largest physician‐owned partnership, has further expanded its emergency medicine practice line through an affiliation with Saint John’s Emergency Medicine Specialists Inc. (SJEMS), a regional leader in emergency care. As Vituity’s newest partner, SJEMS clinicians will gain access to resources, innovations, and best practices developed by Vituity clinicians across the country. Like all Vituity practice locations, the group will retain local autonomy and will continue to provide superior clinical care and leadership at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.

SJEMS has successfully managed Providence Saint John’s ED since 1994. Under the group’s leadership, the department was designated a STEMI receiving center. Providence Saint John’s is also the proud home to the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center in the region.
SJEMS Medical Director Russ Kino, MD, says joining Vituity will help the group better serve its hospital and patients in a challenging healthcare environment. Vituity’s robust practice management team supports billing, contracting, and leadership development, while its innovation arm helps bring the latest care advances to its hospital partners. In addition, Vituity’s recruiting capabilities will help SJEMS deepen its bench with the highest quality clinicians.
