[Emeryville, CA]—Vituity proudly announces the 2025 Dr. Wes Curry Community Impact Award recipients, recognizing excellence and leadership in emergency medicine. The awards were presented on September 8 at the Vituity/ACEP Wes Curry Community Impact Summit in Salt Lake City, UT, during the ACEP25 Annual Meeting.
Named in honor of Dr. Wes Curry, these prestigious awards recognize emergency medicine physicians and administrators who exemplify leadership, collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. An emergency medicine pioneer, Dr. Wes Curry dedicated his career to improving patient care, fostering collaboration, and mentoring future leaders. The 2025 award recipients continue his legacy by driving change and excellence in their fields.

The 2025 Dr. Wes Curry Community Impact Award recipients are:
Rodney W. Borger, MD, FACEP
Chairman and Medical Director, Department of Emergency Medicine, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center
Dr. Borger is a longtime Vituity partner and board member whose leadership has shaped emergency medicine in California’s Inland Empire. He founded ARMC’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program, created scholarships to promote equity in medicine, and has been recognized nationally for his humanitarian work and contributions to medical education and community service.
Roger A. Mitchell Jr., MD
President, Howard University Hospital
A forensic pathologist and healthcare executive, Dr. Mitchell has held leadership roles as Chief Medical Examiner for Washington, DC, and now as President of Howard University Hospital. He also serves as President-Elect of the National Medical Association and is the co-author of Death in Custody. His career reflects a deep commitment to improving health outcomes and advancing equity.
Uché Blackstock, MD
Founder and CEO, Advancing Health Equity
Dr. Blackstock is a nationally recognized physician leader, speaker, and bestselling author of LEGACY: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine. Through her company, Advancing Health Equity, she partners with organizations to embed equity into healthcare strategy and practice. She has been named to TIME’s “100 Most Influential People in Health” and received the NAACP’s Dr. William Cobb Montague Health Equity Award.
Adeiyewunmi (Ade) Osinubi, MD
Emergency Medicine Resident, University of Pennsylvania; Documentary Filmmaker
Dr. Osinubi combines medicine with storytelling to elevate underrepresented voices in healthcare. Her award-winning documentary, Black Motherhood Through the Lens, and her “Creatives for Social Change in Medicine” initiative have reached a wide audience and inspired new approaches to health equity. She has been recognized as a Rock Health Top 50 in Digital Health honoree and by organizations such as NMQF and Black Health Connect.
