How Brilliance 2025 Came to Life

Brilliance 2025: Celebrating Women Disrupting Healthcare isn’t just another leadership summit—it’s a movement. On November 13, women healthcare professionals across clinical and non-clinical disciplines will gather in Chicago for a powerful day of inspiration, learning, and community-building. But what sparked the creation of this one-of-a-kind event?

We sat down with two of its champions, Imamu Tomlinson, MD, MBA, CEO of Vituity, and Tennille Lowery, MBA, VP of Education and Experience at Vituity, to hear the story behind Brilliance.

Q: Where did the idea for this event come from?

Dr. Imamu Tomlinson: The idea started with a simple observation: there are so many incredible women in healthcare who are quietly driving transformation. But too often, their work goes unrecognized—or they’re excluded from the rooms where big decisions are made. I wanted to change that. I believe in building spaces where people feel seen and celebrated, and where their potential is ignited. Brilliance was born from that belief.

Tennille Lowery: It came from a desire to spotlight the brilliance we see every day—from the frontlines to the boardroom—and create a platform where women can thrive, connect, and lead. We knew we wanted something different: not just another conference, but an experience that feels bold, personal, and empowering.

Q: Why “Brilliance?” What’s behind the name?

Tennille: The word “brilliance” captures everything we’re trying to honor and cultivate. It’s not just about being smart; it’s about radiating purpose, passion, and leadership. Women in healthcare are lighting the path forward, and we wanted a name that reflected their power and potential.

Dr. Tomlinson: For us at Vituity, brilliance is also a cultural foundation. Our Culture of Brilliance is about creating environments where people are empowered to break barriers, collaborate courageously, and transform care. This summit takes that internal culture and shares it externally—so that the spirit of empowerment, innovation, and equity that drives Vituity can ripple through the broader healthcare community.

Q: What can attendees expect from Brilliance 2025?

Tennille: They can expect to be inspired—and to grow. The agenda is intentionally diverse, featuring women leaders across industries: CEOs, startup founders, brand strategists, legal experts, and clinicians. Attendees will experience:

  • Bold conversations on leading in the age of AI, building companies from the ground up, and transforming culture.
  • Actionable workshops on personal branding, negotiation skills, and navigating the mental load.
  • Inspiring keynotes from trailblazing women disrupting healthcare and beyond.
  • Community connections through networking sessions designed to build meaningful relationships.

Dr. Tomlinson: I’m particularly excited about the range of voices and perspectives. Whether you’re a student exploring your first steps, a mid-career leader navigating growth, or a seasoned executive driving change, there’s something here for you. Brilliance is intentionally multi-generational, creating conversations that resonate wherever you are in your journey.

Q: How is this event different from other leadership summits?

Dr. Tomlinson: It’s designed with heart and intention. Brilliance isn’t just about professional growth—it’s about personal transformation. The energy in the room is different because the mission is personal. And by tying it to Vituity’s Culture of Brilliance, we’re ensuring that the event is more than a moment—it’s part of a larger movement to change healthcare leadership from within.

Tennille: And we’ve made it intimate. It’s not about getting lost in a sea of people. It’s about honest conversations, authentic learning, and real community. People leave feeling changed and seen.

Q: What do you hope the long-term impact of Brilliance will be?

Tennille: We want this to be the start of a larger movement. This event may be just one day, but the connections, ideas, and momentum will live on. We hope attendees walk away ready to influence change in their organizations and communities—and to come back year after year to grow alongside us.

Dr. Tomlinson: I think of Brilliance as a catalyst. This is where bold leadership begins. But it doesn’t end here. We’re already thinking about how to scale this model—encompassing more cities, initiating more conversations, and starting more action. We want to keep lighting sparks wherever we go.

Q: Any final words for someone considering attending?

Dr. Tomlinson: Come as you are. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You simply need to be open to learning, connecting, and discovering your brilliance.

Tennille: You belong in this room. Whether you’re looking to grow, lead, or be reminded that your voice matters, this event was made for you.
