Leadership Training

Gain hands-on leadership experience through dynamic small group case studies, expert-led didactics, and cutting-edge online learning modules. Engage in weekly mentorship sessions with fellowship directors and attend premier leadership programs such as Vituity’s Site Leadership Academy, Patient Experience Boot Camp, and Process Improvement Essentials.


On-the-Job Experience

Work directly with your site Medical Director, shadowing their day-to-day operations. In the second semester, take on an active role within your site's administrative team or lead a site project. Your personal Regional Director mentor will guide you through department meetings, offering insights into healthcare leadership at the regional and divisional levels.

Fellows also participate in virtual and in-person field trips to our medical malpractice company (The Mutual), billing company (Revenue Cycle Management), and non-clinical business support (Vituity Practice Management).

Program Structure

Engage in nearly weekly virtual meetings with the fellowship directors and embark on 1-2 trips per month to attend leadership meetings and educational programs within Vituity. Each fellow works a 2/3 clinical shift load and dedicates 2.5 days per week, on average, to fellowship activities. Almost any site within Vituity can accommodate a fellow, providing a wide range of options for clinical placement.

  • Attending a communications workshop and on-stage presentation opportunities at our Spring Symposiums.
  • Co-leading and participating in our Vituity-wide virtual book club.
  • Attending key Vituity meetings including Board of Directors, Divisional Leadership, and Partnership meetings.
  • Working 1:1 with your personal Regional Director mentor.
  • Selecting and completing a multidisciplinary fellowship project that impacts your region or the organization.
  • Officer shadowing and 1:1 meeting with key Vitan leaders.

We’re looking for ambitious, high-achieving physicians eager to step into Medical Director roles at Vituity. Ideal candidates are top clinicians and/or recognized leaders in their residencies with outstanding references from their residency program or Medical Directors.

 

Eligibility

 

  • Recent graduates from accredited residency programs in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, inpatient neurology, psychiatry, or family practice
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family practice
  • Ability to obtain a medical license in the practicing state
  • Strong academic record, leadership experience, and communication skills
  • Credentialed for Vituity clinical sites at fellowship start

Compensation & Benefits

 

Fellows receive competitive compensation for clinical work, consistent with Vituity partner pay structures. Additional benefits include:

 

  • Up to $4,000 educational allowance for leadership development expenses
  • Administrative hours to support fellowship activities
  • Partnership advancement at the same rate as non-fellow physicians
  • Fast-track to leadership, with potential for exponential career and earnings growth

More than 85% of past fellows have advanced into leadership roles within Vituity, including our Chief Medical Officer, Gregg Miller, MD and multiple division and regional leaders.
